I made this painting as a birthday gift for a friend. This is the only abstract work I given a way and the reason for this lays in the background of this friend. Both because of her interest in fashion, as this painting is a portrayal of the technique of sewing pieces of cloth together. And because of her cultural heritage of not portraying human figures. 🙂 Also this is the most precise painting I have ever made. As my normal painting style is rather loosely. However I felt that a more precise style was more fitting for this person, even though I still think this painting very much has my touch. It’s also my attempt and homage to Islamic geometric decoration. And I’m rather proud to have been able to show off I’m able to produce a precise work of art even though that’s not who I am. Made and given away in 2011.
